A ganglion cyst is often referred to as a bible bump or bible cyst because of how they were once treated. The largest book in many homes was the bible and the bible was used to smash the ganglion cyst and break it. The synovial fluid is then dispursed into the surrounding area. It won’t get rid of the ganglion cyst shell so eventually, the synovial fluid will accumulate again in the same location.
We do not recommend this treatment as it may cause damage to the surrounding tissue and bad bruising.
